The Aarhus School of Business – a gateway to the world

The Aarhus School of Business (ASB) – Denmark’s international business school – is a gateway to the world. This applies to both those studying there as well as to trade and industry.

In addition to the Danish courses at Bachelor, Master and PhD level in international communication and business administration, the ASB also offers a large number of international programmes. This attracts students from all over the world – from elsewhere in Europe and from China, the USA and New Zealand.

“What is unique about our foreign students is that they possess a combination of two cultures, both the language and culture of their respective country and a degree in the West at Master level.

These students therefore represent a job resource which ought to be in demand by Danish trade and industry, says Jan Beyer Schmidt-Sørensen, rector of the Aarhus School of Business.”

Several businesses have in fact contacted the ASB to get into contact with foreign students, one of them being the company Hedeselskabet which is already engaged in activities in Poland.

For the purpose of investigating a specific business area in the country, the company contacted the ASB in order to find a Polish business student at Master level for the assignment.

“Poland must be an interesting market for Danish businesses, as are some of the other countries from which our students come. As an institution of higher education, our primary task is not to educate young people from foreign countries, but to supply highly qualified employees to Danish businesses. And if some of our foreign students are able to provide Danish businesses with useful input, then our mission is complete,” concludes Jan Beyer Schmidt-Sørensen.
