Abildskou A/S
Denmark’s expansive passenger carrier - Bus services · Coaches · Construction plant and equipment
The activities of Abildskou A/S are extremely wide-ranging. What started in 1960 as a coach to Tranbjerg, a suburb in the south of Århus, has since grown into one of Denmark’s largest privately-owned operators within passenger transport by road. The year 1983 can rightly be described as a landmark for Jens E. Abildskou, coach operator. This was the year when, after many years of tireless efforts, the Danish Passenger Transport Council granted a licence to establish what has since become the popular 888 service between Århus and Copenhagen via Odden. Jens E. Abildskou thereby became a competitor to DSB. Today, the company can offer its customers, who range from young students to OAPs, six to seven daily departures to and from the capital. However, Abildskou A/S’s fleet, consisting of twelve coaches which travel more than two million kilometres per year, does not confine itself to operating on Danish roads.

Since the spring of 2001, the schedule also includes three weekly departures to Berlin. If this becomes a success, the daily management of Abildskou A/S, which comprises two generations of the family, is intent on identifying other new destinations. The construction plant and equipment operated by Abildskou comprises three cranes and lorries.
