A pioneer within engine reconditioning
In 1927, Carl Christensen, an engineer, set up a cylinder service shop at Strandvejen in Aarhus and quickly became known as “Cylinder Carl”. Three years later, the first branch opened in Copenhagen. For more than 50 years, the main office on the corner of Ringgaden and Silkeborgvej served as the headquarters until a new domicile facing Viborgvej was built in 1991.

From the outset, the focus of the company has been quality work and quality products which has made the company one of the leading Danish importers of components for the automotive, industrial and marine sectors. The company still runs a successful reconditioning operation, reconditioning engines and producing brake callipers for resale.

In 1967, the CAC Foundation was founded, and today the foundation owns the companies which form the CAC Group. The CAC Foundation also helps preserve Danish cultural heritage such as The Old Town in Aarhus and the Jutland Manor House Museum at Gammel Estrup.
