Aarhus – a conference city

You set the agenda for your conference in Aarhus

Aarhus is one of the most popular conference cities in Denmark. This is no surprise, because the country’s second-largest city has what it takes to make your meeting or congress a success – for both participants and their accom-panying partners. Every year, numerous national and international conferences are held in Aarhus, often with links to the city’s academic or political organisations, international research or educational communities or the many small or medium-sized businesses and international concerns domiciled in Aarhus. Aarhus has the facilities and the experience necessary for your conference to be a success.

Place for large and small

With regard to meetings and conferences, Aarhus has it all, from small, intimate meeting rooms to large conference halls with room for up to 2,500 people. When you need to book accommodation, Aarhus has 4,000 rooms in the area, of which 1,500 are in the centre of the city.

At the same time, the access roads and infrastructure make Aarhus a natural choice for hold-ing your meeting or conference. With its central location in East Jutland, the E45 motorway right to the door, international train connections, its own ferry port and only a short distance to Billund and Aarhus airports – it couldn’t really be easier.

In the centre of the city, many of the facil-ities are within walking distance, and it is really easy to get hold of a taxi or use public transport. If you would rather get around by bicycle, you can borrow one of the many city bikes which are a colourful part of the city’s street life during the summer.

Before, during and after

Today, organisers of meetings and conferences do not just give priority to events being organis-ed professionally and in an optimum setting.

. What the city has to offer outside conference working hours is just as important a factor when you choose your venue, because one also has to think of the participants’ possible accom-panying partners. It is important that they too have a good time. Aarhus has what it takes – with its varied shopping scene, culinary high-lights, sightseeing in The Latin Quarter, cultural events at the Concert Hall Aarhus or the ARoS art museum and the rich possibilities for enjoying outdoor life in the nearby forests, on the beach or on one of the local golf courses.

Aarhus has so much to offer that will help ensure that a meeting or conference is a success for everyone involved...
