Aarhus never stands still

A day in Aarhus is a day in a city with heaps to do for every hour of the day and night, all year round. Aarhus has something for every taste – for locals and visitors, adults and children alike.

Shopping for every taste

As the second-largest city in Denmark, Aarhus is leading the way as the place to shop with more than 400 specialist shops, shopping centres and department stores in an exciting city centre. The pedestrian shopping streets and the atmospheric Latin Quarter beckon with exclusive shops selling the latest fashions and products of the highest quality. Bruun’s Galleri is a new indoor shopping centre with 90 shops on several floors in addition to a cinema seating 2,000, numerous cafés and restaurants and lots more ... A perfect place to spend the day in good company!

Cafés and nightlife
A day in the city is not complete without some-thing to eat and drink, and Aarhus has what it takes – and more, whether you are after fast food or pizza, salads or juicy steaks, or an inter-national gourmet experience. There is lots to choose between – and something for every taste and purse.

And then Aarhus is, of course, a city known for its café scene. The cafés are where all ages meet from earlyish morning until late at night. You will find cafés in the Latin Quarter and along the river running through the city centre. And on the main shopping street, Strřget, is one of the popular book cafés. All the cafés are different with their own distinct hallmarks – where you can meet up with friends and acquaintances for a couple of hours or enjoy your own company reading a newspaper or a good book or simply reflecting on life around you.

When the cafés close for the night, many cus-tomers venture out into the pulsating nightlife of casinos, discos, nightclubs, bars and live music venues.

There is always entertainment to be found in Aarhus, and most venues are within walking distance of each other. They include: Concert Hall Aarhus, Aarhus Theatre, Train, Voxhall, Jazzbar Bent J, Kulturgyngen, Gran Theatre for Dance, Salsa CityClub and Royal Scandinavian Casino.

Theatre, opera, classical concerts, rock music, intimate jazz and dancing attract people to the many small and large venues. Aarhus has a rich cultural scene, culminating each year in late summer with the Aarhus Festival.
